Easy geology activities can begin with a neighborhood rock hunt, sorting samples by color, texture, size, or sparkle, and recording observations in a notebook. Children can test hardness carefully with common objects, make layered “sediment” jars using soil and sand, or build landforms from clay. Pair each activity with reading, drawing, and simple vocabulary to deepen learning.

The School House Homeschool program delivers the American Emergent Curriculum for learners from Pre-K through 8th grade, generally serving children approximately ages 3 to 12. Lessons are organized in eight-week sessions that allow families to spend sustained time with connected topics. Parents can adapt pacing, discussion, and hands-on work to each child’s developmental level and interests.

The School House curriculum is designed to connect subjects rather than teach them as separate silos. A geology or earth science topic can support scientific observation while also creating opportunities for reading, writing, math, art, entrepreneurship, civics, gratitude, and kindness. This connected approach helps children understand how ideas relate while building skills across their overall homeschool experience.

Enrolled families receive access to more than 400 educator training films that explain how to deliver lessons and prepare a learning environment. The program also includes live weekly educator and founder support sessions with Q&A, recordings for later viewing, scheduled office hours, weekly updates, newsletters, and access to a members-only community. These resources help parents plan and teach with practical guidance.

Both homeschool payment plans include the complete curriculum in eight-week sessions, educator training films, printables and lesson materials, Transparent Classroom progress and portfolio tools, live weekly support, and member community access. A digital welcome box is included at signup. Physical TSH Materials Boxes are optional purchases and are not included in the base subscription price.

The monthly plan costs $125 per learner for 10 monthly payments during the school year. The annual plan costs $1,200 per learner as one upfront payment for the full school year. Both plans include the same curriculum, training films, printables, progress tools, live support, and community access. Pricing is per child, and optional physical materials boxes are purchased separately.

The program includes Transparent Classroom, an online tool for tracking learner progress and maintaining a personalized portfolio. Families can use it to document completed work, follow development over time, and keep records organized throughout the school year. Combined with curriculum materials and parent guidance, the tool provides a practical system for making learning visible and maintaining an ongoing educational record.

The School House describes its curriculum as secular while emphasizing character, kindness, gratitude, entrepreneurship, civics, art, and connected academic learning. It is also intentionally screen-minimal for children. Digital resources primarily support the parent educator through training films, progress tools, and community access, while the learner’s experience centers on prepared environments, printable materials, conversations, and hands-on learning.
