The Curriculum Advantage

THE AMERICAN EMERGENT CURRICULUM

Learn to write before you read—adding years of literacy.
Children begin communicating through marks, symbols, sounds, letters, and words before conventional reading is expected. Writing gives them an active entrance into language, allowing literacy to begin through their own ideas rather than waiting for reading fluency to arrive first.

TSHAI-Lessons.png

Lessons aligned to your child’s developmental stage.

Children are not smaller versions of adults, and they do not learn in the same way at every age. Each lesson, material, expectation, and environment is designed around what children are developmentally ready to understand, practice, and master.

TSHAI-Subjects.png

Subjects that are understood together.

The world does not separate itself into isolated academic periods. History connects to literature, science to geography, mathematics to art, and culture to language—helping children understand the relationships between ideas and build knowledge that lasts.

TSHAI-Tactile-Mathematics.png

Tactile mathematics—children learn math at their core.

Before mathematics becomes abstract symbols on paper, children touch it, build it, move it, compare it, and see how it works. Concrete experience creates an internal understanding of quantity, pattern, operation, and relationship—not merely a memorized procedure.

Independent scientific discovery.

Children do not only receive scientific facts; they observe, question, predict, investigate, record, and reconsider.  Through independent discovery, science becomes a disciplined way of thinking rather than a collection of answers supplied by an adult.

Kindness and Civics built in.

Kindness and citizenship are not occasional themes or separate assemblies.  Children practice caring for one another, contributing to their environment, taking responsibility, engaging respectfully, and understanding their place within a community every day.
