MS. AMELIA MAGGIO
EDUCATOR, THE LITTLE HOUSE
AMI (Association Montessori Internationale / USA) Primary Diploma, AMI Primary Training, studied at The University of Hartford for BA in University Studies with a concentration in Montessori, 9 Years in Childcare (5 years in a classroom environment), CPR/AED certified, First Aid certified.
Amelia is a singer, musician, avid hiker, and beachgoer. She is passionate about animals of all kinds and a cat and dog mom. Amelia’s life passion is to honor and respect children through education.
Amelia always says there is no faster way to her heart than a child. As a child in a large family (4 girls!) she always took on a care giving role. Growing up, Amelia attended a Montessori school and feels that it was integral in not only fostering a strong academic background, but also in shaping her into a kind, compassionate, and well-rounded person. After some time in Nursing school at Adelphi University, Amelia decided her true passion was education. Through exploring various avenues in childcare and education such as being a family nanny and working as an Assistant at Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), Amelia found that working with children was an enlightening and rewarding experience. Amelia believes in sparking joy and creativity through academic exploration. Amelia thinks it is imperative that all Educators should be life-long learners and is excited to expand her knowledge through AMI training, and through working closely with her Co-Educators at The School House.
